For Freedoms Town Hall: Freedom of Expression
Artists here and elsewhere make work about specific Cleveland subjects and communities that are not their own. What are successful models for how artists get to know, build trust with, and work alongside these communities to produce meaningful and relevant art? Hank Willis Thomas, founder of For Freedoms, will join local artist Johnny Coleman and two visiting artists, Catherine Gund and John Riepenhoff, to talk with the Clevelanders who were instrumental in their projects.
