February 12, 2018
6:00 pm
8:00 pm

At the Glenville Exchanges, FRONT will look at Glenville history and stories through the first Glenville screening of the short film From Superman to Super Fly & Beyond. The film features Glenville natives Leon Bibb and Chris Arnett among those sharing stories about life in Glenville, a diverse community of Jewish and African American residents. Join Neal Hodges, the film creative director, narrator and Glenville native as he opens a dialogue with the audience about stories of the past and how Glenville’s super history can shape the story of Cleveland’s future.

Bio:
Neal Hodges is an artist, born in the historic Glenville Neighborhood. Hodges relocated to the Mt. Pleasant community with his grandmother after the deaths of his parents. The Cleveland native studied communications at Cleveland State University and currently resides in the Larchmere district of Cleveland, which is ten blocks of upbeat vitality and offbeat charm. As an actor, he has appeared in productions at Cleveland Public Theater, Karamu House, Kennedy’s Theater @ Playhouse Square, Cuyahoga Community College and Weathervane Theater in addition to appearing in national-theatrically released films. His modeling excursion landed him in print ads which led to work at the Cleveland Institute of Art. Hodges is also a writer and has contributed to media outlets including the Plain Dealer, Free Times and BET.com. Additionally, he is the personal assistant to TV & film legend, Bill Cobbs.

Hodges joined Neighborhood Connections in 2014 where he currently works as the project manager for the Greater University Circle Community Health Initiative (GUCCHI), an initiative anchored by Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland Clinic, Neighborhood Connections and University Hospitals and funded by the Cleveland Foundation which addresses infant mortality and lead poisoning.
