On the FRONT Lines: Art in an American City
July 11, 2018
12:00 pm
1:30 pm

Nationally and internationally, Northeast Ohio’s reputation for the arts is on the rise. From international powerhouses Playhouse Square, The Cleveland Museum of Art, and The Cleveland Orchestra to local institutions like Cleveland Public Theatre, Oberlin College, SPACES, and Karamu House, residents and tourists alike benefit from the region’s vast offerings of art, performance, music, and theatre.

Beginning July 14, the region will have one more reason to celebrate the arts: FRONT International’s Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art: An American City opens. Modeled after European-style arts events, FRONT will convene over 100 artists from around the world to participate in events and installations in Downtown, Ohio City, Akron, and Oberlin. A few of the projects include Canvas City, a mural program across nine Downtown blocks, and new art installations on the campuses of Case Western Reserve University and Cleveland Clinic.

Join us as local, national, and international artists participating in FRONT discuss their art and share their perspectives on the ever-changing and politically urgent conditions of an American city.
