Li Jinghu (b.1972, Guangdong, China) works primarily with sculpture and installation, living and working in the Southern boomtown of Dongguan, an emerging manufacturing hub known as the ‘factory of the world’. Material modesty is a powerful vernacular as he combines industrial techniques and disparate materials to create an intertwining ongoing ‘historiography’ of a landscape in fux. Since 2002, Li Jinghu has established a conceptual orientated practice representative of Post-90s infuential generation of artists from South China. His work shares a deep-rooted connection with Dongguan – to relentless transformation of this city, which contributes both the substance of his life and work. He has witnessed immense changes to the Urban-Rural divide since childhood, with observations often punctuated with a deep sense of loss and instability.

Li Jinghu currently lives and works in Dongguan, Guangdong Province. Major solo exhibitions include Magician Space, Beijing (2014); Arrow Factory Space, Beijing (2011); Observation Society, Guangzhou; and J&Z Gallery, Shenzhen (2009). Group exhibitions include: 11th Gwangju Biennale, Gwangju (2016); CASS Sculpture Foundation, West Sussex (2016); Parasite, Hong Kong (2016); UCCA, Beijing (2016); OCAT Shenzhen, Shenzhen (2016); Futura, Prague (2016); Taikang Space, Beijing (2015); Minsheng Museum, Shanghai (2015); 8th Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale, Shenzhen (2014); Bank, Shanghai (2013); Duolun Museum of Modern Art, Shanghai (2012); Times Museum, Guangzhou (2012); K11 Artist Village, Wuhan (2011); Get it Louder, Beijing, Shanghai (2010); Iberia Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing (2009); and Para/Site Art Space, Hong Kong (2006).
